Rome, NY – Marianne W. Gaige, Cathedral Corporation’s chairman and CEO, has announced that Fred Van Alstyne, formerly chief operating officer of Content Critical Solutions, has been named chief operating officer (COO) of Cathedral Corporation.
Skilled in operations management, budgeting, sales and marketing, as well as business development and customer communications, Van Alstyne will be responsible for leadership and oversight of all aspects of production and technology for the corporation, which operates printing plants in four states and serves a wide range of industries, including the arenas of financial services, health care, governmental and utilities, as well as religious and nonprofit organizations.
“Fred brings a wealth of experience in the document outsourcing industry, along with strong leadership skills and a history of embracing innovation,” Gaige said, adding, “I am confident he will guide Cathedral well as we continue our journey through our second century.”
Van Alstyne is also a member of the board of trustees and immediate past president of Imaging Network Group (INg), an international association of service bureaus that provide data management, printing and mailing, and electronic billing and presentment.

At Content Critical, Van Alstyne served as a key architect of the company, a provider of technology solutions, process outsourcing and transactional document production services, from the time of its inception in 2010.
A certified public accountant, Van Alstyne previously served as a turnaround consultant for Marotta Gund Budd & Dzera in New York City, prior to the formation of CCS. His previous experience included roles in both mergers and acquisitions consulting and auditing for Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte & Touche.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
