Press release from the issuing company
The Imitlin range of embossed papers, inspired by the tactile virtues of textiles, includes six new shades with the new colour palette following the latest market trends
Two coated range extensions are introduced: Imitlin Glow and Imitlin Metallic.
London, UK – Fedrigoni Group, the leading global producer of speciality papers for premium packaging, publishing and graphics, as well as self-adhesive labelling products, has rejuvenated and expanded its range of embossed Imitlin papers as part of a wider strategy to position the products for elegant packaging applications.
The new tactile and textured Imitlin range (the name is a portmanteau of Imitation and Linen) combines elegance with strength, offering anti-fingerprint treatment, light-fast colours and a high folding endurance that makes it versatile for many creative applications including boxes, shopping bags, cases, covers, and notebooks.
In keeping with Fedrigoni’s drive to provide greener alternatives to plastic packaging through high-quality paper options, the Imitlin range is made from FSC® certified virgin fibres and is completely biodegradable and recyclable.
Recently launched at Luxe Pack Monaco, the new line of embossed papers includes the introduction of six new shades following the latest market trends in line with the WGSN Global Colour Forecast: Vibrant Ochre, Teal Green, Jade Green, Grey Stone (compatible with Sirio Pietra), Pink Sand (compatible with Sirio Nude) and Ginger Brown.
In addition to the new shades, the latest range also includes a new embossing called E/R00 Diana - named after the Roman Goddess of Hunting - and mimics the texture of leather. Imitlin Allpack has also expanded with this range, with the most versatile and popular shades of Imitlin (Blu Notte, Castano, Nero, Neve, Rosso) now available in folding box grades catering specifically to packaging designers.
The latest range also sees the introduction of two coated range extensions: Imitlin Glow and Imitlin Metallic. Imitlin Glow offers a glossy and shiny finish, while Imitlin Metallic is based on pearlescent papers which cast a more suffused light. Both appeal to a futuristic aesthetic, playing with light reflections, colour and texture.
The overhaul of the Imitlin range was considered alongside other current Fedrigoni paper ranges offering a wider range of customisable finishes in coordinated sets and packaging applications, such as Imitlin Grey Stone and Pink Sand which are compatible with Sirio Color Pietra and Nude respectively. As a result, designers can create more refined colour choices for their brand identity by using the same shade in different textures and finishes.
Micaela Di Trana, Marketing and R&D Director at Fedrigoni Paper commented: "Imitlin is one of Fedrigoni's most famous papers, distinguished by a unique style that combines elegance with strength. The renewal has kept its essence unaltered but has allowed us to make it even more versatile and transversal, perfect for creating all-round packaging. Furthermore, Imitlin allows us to create beautiful coordinates by combining different ranges with the same colour base, dialoguing perfectly with other products in the Fedrigoni portfolio."
