Plockmatic Group has announced the release in North America of the new ColorCut SC6500 high-speed cutting and creasing device, and the FB1180T cutting table for larger format work and the first in the range to be equipped with the new T-Series cutting head. Both products will make a North American debut at PRINTING UNITED 2023, taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, October 18 to 20 and will be available in the North America through their Network of Morgana and Intec dealers.

Morgana SC6500
The recently introduced Morgana SC6500 is the newest addition to the company’s extensive range of post-press devices, and the latest in its ColorCut digital die-cutting suite. The SC6500 will replace the highly successful SC5000/6000 unit.

The SC6500 is an automated sheet-fed digital die-cutter and creaser that offers dual tool working and a capacity of up to 1,000 sheets in its auto-sheet feeder for long uninterrupted runs. With the ability to handle substrates of up to 350 micron/350 gsm in sheet sizes up to 13.3” x 27.9”, the unit can handle a wide range of applications, including labels and light packaging with no additional tooling costs for traditional dies.

With its unique and reliable vacuum belt feeder, the SC6500 can be left to cut unattended, while the camera registration system automatically retrieves cut files by reading the QR codes on each sheet. This allows an operator to stack multiple different jobs in the feeder with each being processed accurately from the QR code data.

The SC6500 can be operated in “DIRECT” mode with a direct connection to a PC running the industry acclaimed ColorCut software with plugins to the leading industry design software. It can also operate in standalone “HELD” mode, where files can be stored internally or on a USB stick for easy recall of the job. In this mode, multiple machines can receive files from one ColorCut software and means the unit can be positioned anywhere in a production shop remote from the pre-press area. All machine functions are controlled using the new 7” touch screen interface where each step of the production process is monitored and controlled.

Morgana ColorCut FB1180T

The Morgana ColorCut FB1180T is the largest addition to the flatbed range and is the first to be equipped with new tangential T-SERIES cutting head. The FB1180-T with combined market leading ColorCut Pro 5 software, brings many advanced features to aid design and production.

The new flagship FB1180T cutting table is manufactured with premium components for high quality, reliability, and class-leading performance. This is reinforced with the eye-catching design of the new control software displayed on an updated state-of-the-art 7″ immersive touch panel control.

The FB1180T incorporates an enhanced quad tool cutting head which opens up new possibilities through its ground-breaking design. Users also benefit from the very latest in advanced high-speed servo motors for accurate, fast, and productive cutting and creasing.

Perfect for on-demand prototype pieces to light production runs of two and three-dimensional items, the FB1180-T flatbed cutting table can cut and crease virtually any form of print, from sample packaging; to high-end products; protective cartons or synthetic Point-of-Sale items and kiss-cut adhesive labels.

The FB1180T offers a large production table for print businesses working in the large format sector. The machine can handle media of up to 33.5” x 46.25”, providing a cutting area of 28” x 40” inches in size. With a cutting depth of up to 1/8 inch and a cutting speed of 47” per second this unit eats through the work at an impressive rate.

The FB1180T is the first in the ColorCut line to benefit from the new T-Series cutting head. This quad head including 4 tools, (contour cutting tools and active tangential tools) gives a machine precise enough to cut labels yet its amazing 4 tool selection provides users with the option to switch to high force cut and crease for thick N/E/F flute corrugated material, and a diverse range of media in-between.

ColorCut Pro 5 Software
Both the new SC6500 and the 1180T will benefit from the latest release of the ColorCut Pro 5 software. Complete with many advanced features to streamline preparation of the cut files, the software can be supplied packaged with the ColorCut Server Station. This gives an out of the box preconfigured PC, monitor and stand solution and includes the ColorCut Template maker. Template maker gives an unlimited range of box sizes and types which can be customised easily and visually within the software.
