Press release from the issuing company
Kyoto, Japan—SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. announces that it began accepting orders on October 2, 2023, for the Truepress PAC 830F, a new high-speed, water-based inkjet system designed for flexible packaging.
In recent years, companies in the packaging industry have started to work together to search for solutions to environmental issues such as marine plastic pollution, food-loss reduction and achievement of a decarbonized society. They are taking a supply chain-wide approach to improving their supply systems.
At the same time, to meet diversifying consumer preferences, brand owners are eager to offer their products in packages with more varied designs, which can often successfully boost sales. These trends indicate that even in the flexible packaging sector, companies want to shift to small- to medium-lot printing to efficiently meet diversifying needs, while reducing their impact on the environment.
Recognizing these developments, SCREEN GA announced it was creating a new inkjet system in 2020. Since then, it has been improving the quality of the system to levels that would satisfy market requirements, with the help of customers who have provided feedback. These efforts have culminated in the launch of the Truepress PAC 830F.
The Truepress PAC 830F is a high-speed, water-based inkjet system specifically designed for flexible packaging. Using drop-on-demand inkjet technology, it can handle film up to 830 millimeters wide at an industry-leading speed of 75 meters per minute with a resolution of 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi. The system is also capable of printing a resolution of 1200 dpi using a built-in primer coater that increases ink adherence. Its CMYK and white water-based inks also conform to food safety regulations.
These features allow the Truepress PAC 830F to deliver both excellent safety and color consistency, two factors that are essential for the food products industry. Serving as its digital front end (DFE) is EQUIOS, which has evolved with SCREEN GA’s Truepress JET and Truepress LABEL series and is now optimized exclusively for the Truepress PAC 830F. This DFE enables not only high-speed printing but also advanced color management.
Conventional analog printing requires longer working hours and skilled staff because of the need for prepress work for each job and system setup at job changes. Digital systems largely resolve these issues and demonstrate exceptional responsiveness, especially when small lot jobs of 2,000 to 4,000 meters need to be processed in large numbers. The Truepress PAC 830F handles both PET and OPP media and SCREEN GA is working to further expand compatibility based on industry requirements.
SCREEN GA intends to continue its efforts to understand market needs ahead of other manufacturers in the package printing field and incorporate its insights into product functions and solutions. By doing so, the company hopes to contribute to the overall growth of this segment.
