Press release from the issuing company

MOUNTAIN LAKES, NJ - Graphic Arts Advisors (GAA), a leading mergers and acquisitions advisory firm serving the printing, packaging and graphic communications industries, is pleased to announce the successful sale of Success Printing and Mailing, Inc., Shelton, Connecticut, to Teamshares Inc. GAA represented the seller in the transaction, which closed in July 2023.

Mitch Evans, Managing Director at GAA was contacted by owners Robert (Bob) Hurwitz and Joe Plescia as part of their exploration to transition the business to new owners. The company had successfully maintained steady sales numbers in general commercial print and mail and had established a growing division in an online internet-based on-demand booklet printing business. GAA was engaged to prepare an initial financial and business value assessment, and was subsequently appointed to conduct an exclusive confidential outreach process to market the company.

Teamshares, headquartered in New York, mission is to make employee ownership the future of small business and has helped more than 80 small businesses, including Success Printing, become employee-owned across 29 states and 42 industries. Over the next 20 years Success Printing will become 80% employee-owned.

“We were very happy with our representation by GAA,” expressed Hurwitz. “From the evaluation process to the final sale, GAA gave us solid advice to navigate the opportunities and challenges, and to achieve the results we hoped for. Our employees all stayed on and are thrilled. As a bonus, the operation has moved into a new building that is closer to where many of the employees live.”

“Bob and Joe were great to work with throughout the transaction,” shared Evans. “We had open communication, transparency, ease of access and solid financials to present when negotiating on their behalf. In the end, healthy companies result in positive outcomes.”
