TMU Chancellor Janice Fukakusa awards Bob

Toronto, ON — Strategic consulting firm, Connecting for Results (CFR), is pleased to announce that its COO and Senior Vice President, Bob Dale, was honoured at yesterday’s The G. Raymond Chang Outstanding Volunteer Awards. A celebration of exceptional volunteer service to Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), the G. Raymond Chang Outstanding Volunteer Award recognizes Bob’s ongoing commitment and contribution to the life of the university.

Dedicated to serving the student community, in 2020 Bob initiated a student mentorship program, Print Wisdom, to help Graphic Communications Management (GCM) students transition from academic life to the workplace. The program connects students with print professionals to help provide industry knowledge and support in career exploration. In the midst of a transitioning workforce, the program was designed to help nurture young people, and to support the industry for future success.

The mentorship program supports female students in particular, who are currently the majority entering the program. To date, Print Wisdom has connected over 40 students with print professionals and is being modelled by schools and trade associations across Canada.

“I am honoured to receive this award. It’s a pleasure supporting future leaders as they take their first steps outside the classroom. I have a long history with the GCM program so this award means a lot to me,” said Bob Dale, COO & Senior Vice President, Connecting for Results.

“Bob’s dedication to supporting young people is inspiring. I’m proud of his commitment to the GCM community and to see him recognized for his achievements,” said Gordon Griffiths, CEO & President, Connecting for Results.

Bob’s relationship with the GCM program first started as a student, then continued as a part-time faculty member teaching cost estimating to the degree program students. Over his 15 years as an educator, Bob worked with 500 to 600 students and saw the graduating class grow from 20 to 80 students.

Bob also supports GCM students as a trustee at Canadian Print Scholarships, where he helps to attract young people to the industry by providing financial assistance to exceptional students from across Canada.

The Outstanding Volunteer Awards are named in honour of G. Raymond Chang, the late chancellor emeritus of Toronto Metropolitan University and Officer of the Order of Canada, for his deep belief in the importance of volunteering. Bob was one of 35 honourees at the 6th annual awards ceremony.
