Charlotte Printers Combine to Offer Over 165 Years of Experience

Press release from the issuing company

Action Graphics, a 41-year-old local printer, has been acquired by Loftin & Company Printers, founded in 1898.

This acquisition brings two of Charlotte’s best sources for printed products together under one roof. The combined companies will offer traditional offset printing, digital printing, mailing, print design, and wide format products, providing all their clients more variety with the same fine quality they have come to expect. The companies will be based at Loftin & Company’s 23,000 sq. ft. facility at 1908 Gateway Boulevard in Charlotte, just off Interstate 85. All employees of both companies will be staying on board, with no layoffs.

“I have known Bill Loftin for a very long time, and we both come from generations of printers... we have ink in our blood,” said Action Graphics owner David Perlman. “When I got a purchase offer on our current building, I began looking for the right company to provide top quality to our customers, and an excellent working environment for my employees. Loftin & Company topped the list.”

Bill Loftin added, “When David called me, I was excited about the new opportunities this created for my employees and our customers. The strengths of both our companies complement each other very well. Action Graphics will be bringing their experienced staff, along with most of their equipment, to join us here creating one of the strongest teams of printing professionals in Charlotte.”

Action Graphics will continue under it’s own name during the initial merger, and expects to experience minor downtime during the process. “We expect the impact of this move on our customers to be minimal,” said David Perlman. “Our customers will still be working with our team, just as they are used to, and we will be less than 3 miles from our current location. I expect to stay on full time initially as well to ease the transition.”

The move is expected to be completed by mid-July.
