Setting out new Group philosophy in preparation for transition to holding company structure
Tokyo – Toppan, a global leader in communication, security, packaging, décor materials, and electronics solutions, has defined the Purpose & Values of the Toppan Group ahead of the transition to a holding company structure in October this year.
“TOPPAN's Purpose & Values” is a philosophy to align the entire Toppan Group on the same trajectory and drive further creation of value for society. It is composed of the Purpose— Breathing life into culture, with technology and heart—and the Values that underpin it.
“Breathing life into culture” expresses Toppan’s intention to support the growth and development of industries and economies while respecting the individuality and lifestyles of every person, group, region, and country, enriching all those elements as culture and helping to shape a world in which they are firmly rooted and can continue to thrive into the future. It reflects how infusing the breath of culture into society is the purpose of the Toppan Group’s existence.
The phrase “with technology and heart,” represents Toppan’s commitment to creating technologies that inspire and the mindset of respecting and valuing human beings, to which the Group has always adhered. “Technology” refers to technologies that Toppan has accumulated thus far in the form of both product- and service-based “printing technologies” and to technologies that will be developed going forward by driving further evolution. “Heart,” meanwhile, expresses the ability to understand people’s feelings, thoughts, and needs and the ability to generate ideas based on them.
To achieve the Purpose, Toppan has also established a set of Values expressed by four keywords—Integrity, Passion, Proactivity, and Creativity.
The Toppan Group will position TOPPAN's Purpose & Values as shared guiding principles and come together as one to exceed the expectations of society with further innovation and work with stakeholders to shape a sustainable society and enhance enterprise value.
