Baldwin's Industrial Curing Solutions Push Speed, Dose, Power and Scalability Boundaries at PSTC Tape Week 2023

Press release from the issuing company

Expert Kevin Joesel discusses how to break boundaries with LED UV for 3D curing in May 9 Poster Session

ST. LOUIS, Missouri — Baldwin Technology Co.’s AMS Spectral UV division, North America’s largest manufacturer of UV and LED curing technology, will showcase its latest lineup of industrial curing solutions at the Pressure Sensitive Tape Week 2023 conference. Baldwin will be located at Table #313 to discuss solutions engineered to deliver the highest speeds, power, dose and scalability for LED UV curing of inks, coatings and adhesives.

Taking place May 9 through 11 at the Hilton Orlando, PSTC Tape Week is a knowledge-building and networking event for pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape professionals. Baldwin will showcase its top-shelf curing solutions for consumer, industrial, packaging and automotive applications.

On May 9, Kevin Joesel, Baldwin’s AMS Spectral UV Industrial Sales Executive for the Americas, will participate in the Poster Session, focusing on how Baldwin’s technology has revolutionized what’s needed for LED UV curing on 3D objects and surfaces. Joesel’s career spans 35 years in the industry and has been focused the last 20 years on industrial curing with UV, LED UV and microwave technology.

The patented XP Quatro Series™ is AMS Spectral UV’s latest evolution for high-speed, high-performance LED UV curing. Hosting two large LED UV arrays, the Quatro Series delivers double the available power of a standard LED solution at a lower cost than two individual lamps while operating at top industrial speeds, driving increased productivity and profitability.

Unique to the XP Quatro Series is its ability to emit two different wavelengths from the same head, so with deep, layered substrates, for instance, the longer wavelengths can penetrate further, and in applications that require simultaneous powerful surface curing, the shorter waves can achieve this at the same time. Additionally, in applications with dual chemistry on one substrate both can be perfectly cured simultaneously.

“UV PSA formulations are investigating, and installing, UV LED systems to replace conventional UV arc systems,” said Joesel. “Our XP platform has proven to significantly reduce energy consumption, with instant on/off capability, and lifetime measured in years in the printing industry. Our newest product platform, XP Quatro, was developed specifically for the converting market, maintaining the Peak Optics design of the XP, but delivers twice the dose (total UV energy) in a compact and economical form. If your process requires high dose or high speed, we have the UV LED solution for you.”

Manufactured in the U.S. and built using quality materials and the world's most powerful LED architecture, the XP Quatro Series is designed to withstand nonstop use in tough conditions and high-productivity environments that require a rugged, resilient curing module.

Baldwin’s AMS Spectral UV pioneered an all-LED curing solution for high-performance printing and converting and is a world leader in the market, with an installed base of more LED systems on offset litho and flexo presses globally than any other provider of the technology. It has quickly risen to prominence among the world’s leading industrial curing equipment manufacturers, with applications ranging from electronics and medical devices to EV automotive and consumer goods.

From research and development through engineering and production, AMS Spectral UV’s team of experts can customize solutions to suit every application. Its comprehensive products and services include conventional UV, LED UV, UV lamps, Infrared, test-lab facilities and application engineering services
