Toronto, ON – Strategic consulting firm, Connecting for Results (CFR), is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Graphics Canada Seminar Series at this year’s Expo (May 11-13, 2023). As the country’s largest graphic communications and printing industries tradeshow, the Expo provides an opportunity for networking and a forum for learning opportunities including educational seminars and workshops. With a number of current challenges and opportunities facing printers, CFR invites leading industry experts to share their insights and advice for navigating the current landscape.
The Graphics Canada Seminar Series includes five timely educational programs running from Thursday, May 11 to Friday, May 12. Topics include automation solutions, cybersecurity, exploring the value of print, recruiting and retaining employees, and the results of the 2023 Industry Survey.
The seminar on The Value of Print – Target your Efforts for Success (Thursday, May 11 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm) will feature a panel of experts as they discuss areas where print has had a positive impact on their business success. Speakers include Sylwia Plawinski, from Canada Post, who will share the latest insights and trends on the impact of direct mail. To discuss successful eCommerce and Retail initiatives is Brendan Ireland from Staples, and Rich Pauptit from Flash Reproductions will discuss packaging from a manufacture’s perspective. To provide the insights from a customer’s perspective, Grace Chan from RBC will talk about marketing initiatives, and the value of printed material as part of the total marketing initiatives. These insights will provide a better understanding of trends, and the benefits of print products and services, to help communicate to our customers.
Between an aging workforce and challenges attracting young talent, the current labour market can feel like a perfect storm. Connecting for Results’ experts, Heather Black and Nicky Milner, share best practices from winning organizations to help companies navigate the landscape to attract and keep the best talent. In Top 5 Ways to Recruit & Retain Employees (Friday, May 12 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm) our experts explore elements of the new workplace including work/life balance, diversity, inclusion, employee wellness, and flexibility. Their insights can help employers save on recruiting costs and develop company cultures based on current values, to win the talent war.
With ongoing labour shortages top of mind for many printers, automation is often a sought-after solution. Robots are one of the most valuable tools to help fill the gaps and associated increase in labour cost. In Robots, ‘Cobots’, & Other Automation Solutions, automation expert Patrick Douglas-Meis helps attendees learn the difference between a robot and a cobot and their comparative benefits and disadvantages. From print to packaging, the focus will also be on the economics of an investment into robotics. The seminar will be hosted on Thursday, May 11 from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm.
Also in technology, the rise of digital printing and printers increasing reliance on networked systems has made them vulnerable to cyber-attacks. These attacks can compromise the integrity of sensitive data, disrupt business operations, and damage the reputation of the printing company. In Cybersecurity – Challenges & Opportunities (Friday, May 12 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am) experts Mahmoud Gad & Grant Sandler from CyberLucent explore the different options and best practices for protecting a company against cyber-threats. With cybercrime on the rise, it pays to be proactive.
