Deluxe and Boeing Employees' Credit Union Form New Relationship
Press release from the issuing company
2/5/01 - St. Paul, Minn.— Deluxe Corporation today announced it has signed an agreement with Boeing Employees’ Credit Union (BECU) in Tukwila, Washington to be the organization’s sole provider of check printing and related services. Deluxe will also provide BECU a variety of eCommerce services to help the credit union serve its members more efficiently at its branches and over the Internet.
"We needed to align with a vendor that shares our philosophies about member service and one that can help us streamline our eCommerce initiatives," said Michele Graf, director of member services for BECU. "Deluxe provides the quality products and online services that our members need today."
With $3 billion in assets, BECU is one of the largest credit unions in the nation and it’s among the leading financial institutions as far as members using online services to manage their personal accounts. "We’re going to help BECU bring more services like Internet check reordering to its 270,000 members," said Grant Schmalzer, director of marketing for Deluxe’s credit union segment. "BECU’s members will enjoy greater convenience while we help the credit union become more efficient."
Internet reordering will eliminate hard copy check orders for BECU. It will also provide order tracking capabilities, allowing BECU to easily check the status of orders for its members. "Deluxe provides the solutions we need to expand our checking products and services to our members," said Shawna Thompson, manager of member services for BECU.
Fraud and risk management
Deluxe will also work with BECU to manage risk and fight fraud. Through its Online Network Exchange (O N E(R)) services, Deluxe will give BECU electronic access to account verification and authorization services. These verification and authorization services provide decision support at the new accounts desk and help identify potential fraudulent activity.
