Scodix Foil and Sense applications drive value by opening new remarkable embellishment opportunities
Houten, The Netherlands – Scodix, the world’s leading provider of digital finishing and embellishment solutions for the graphic arts industry, announces that, DPP, acquired by The Great Peter who also runs PeterPrint, has recently invested in a Scodix Ultra Digital Enhancement Press. The Scodix Foil & Sense applications were cited as key drivers for the investment and offers the company a widening of automation possibilities and economic benefits as well as elevating the luxury look of its products.
DPP is an automation focused digital printing company based in Houten, Netherlands. It specializes in a wide variety of commercial printing applications, all of which are customizable by online shops such as PeterPrint. DPP adds value by making customization its standard, whether that’s in size, paper types or embellishment. In the company group, products are sold directly via web shops amongst other big resellers and online printers.
“In a market where selling standard A4 leaflets is only profitable when you have a huge volume, embellishment gives you the opportunity to add value to each sheet,” says Ferry Lammerts, the founder of PeterPrint and owner of DPP. “With the proven technology of Scodix, in combination with our HP Indigo presses, we found a perfect match. The excellent automation possibilities and great number of possible paper types signify that Scodix is the right choice for us.”
PeterPrint works with many designers, including birthday card artists and other creative minds. Incorporating Scodix products opens new possibilities for these designers to enhance their work, since embellishments are significant tools for capturing customer attention. The company also witnesses growing demand year on year, and the included applications Scodix Foil and Scodix Sense will help to maximize business growth through producing remarkable printed products.
“The future in print is not just growth in volume. Growth in volume will make you busier but not necessarily more profitable or happier,” says Lammerts. “It’s creating remarkable printed products by combining new techniques that add value with a continuous focus on automation. Scodix makes it possible to add value to each sheet. If you look at the range of special possibilities, we offer like digital die cutting, white ink, foil and UV varnish you know you have something more to offer than your standard MC glossy leaflet.”
DPP’s growing business incorporates environmentally friendly and conscious-based decision making. Scodix applications have a high green value, reducing energy consumption, chemicals and heavy metals in comparison to traditional foil and spot varnish. As the Scodix process uses no dyes or molds, this enables cost-effective printing for short-medium runs, achieving unmatched foil enhancement results.
“Scodix is delighted to support DPP in widening its automation opportunities, providing new avenues for designers to flourish, and ultimately achieving the desired growth and resultant economic benefits,” says, Franz Repp, VP Sales, EMEA. “It is a company with aligning values to Scodix, committed to standards of high quality for its printed products and reducing environmental costs. We are very happy to partner with DPP and are excited to see what the team will achieve by utilizing our embellishment applications.”
