Press release from the issuing company
Also working with select exhibitors to continue successful recycling of printed and unprinted rigid PVC and acrylic materials used during show demonstrations
SCRANTON, PA – Vycom®, a market-leading manufacturer of highly innovative plastic sheet products, will be promoting its ability to custom manufacture its comprehensive line of Celtec® premium signboard solutions to incorporate user-specified colors and sizes. Additionally, Vycom will be collecting printed and unprinted rigid PVC and acrylic sheets from select exhibitors for recycling into the company’s internal products. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Vycom booth C10721 at PRINTING United to be held in Las Vegas, October 19-21, 2022.
Custom color and run-to-size capabilities
Vycom manufactures market-leading brands of highly innovative plastic sheet products. For the display graphics industry, the company’s printable Celtec family – including DigiLite®, Woodgrain, and Thick Gauge materials – is the most complete in range of thicknesses, finishes, and textures, for extruded PVC sheets available from a single manufacturer of 100% U.S.-made products.
Celtec materials are available in ten standard colors, three finishes, and a range of thicknesses from 1-38 mm in a variety of sizes. Vycom can provide custom colors and run-to-size manufacturing of its entire Celtec line, which can help streamline the production process of high-volume, digitally-printed graphics. Print service providers, exhibit houses, and fabrication studios that use large quantities of materials can maximize yield and reduce waste by bypassing pre- or post-cutting rigid PVC and go straight into print production once materials are received. Colors tailored to meet clients’ identity or brand needs can also be manufactured, within available thicknesses or finishes.
As a domestic manufacturer of all its polymer products, Vycom maintains healthy supply inventories with short lead times. The company will work with interested parties to develop an effective custom color or run-to-size program that meets their production needs.
Vycom Recycling Program
Vycom will be conducting a pilot version of its recycling program for PRINTING United 2022 where printed and unprinted rigid PVC and acrylic scraps and trim are collected for recycling into the company’s internal products. Designated collection bins will be stationed in the Canon, Cutworx, Kongsberg, and Zünd booths, to collect rigid PVC and acrylic scraps and trim as part of their demonstrations.
Working with Shepard, the official event services provider for PRINTING United 2022, printed and cut sheets will be collected from the bins and picked up by Return Polymers, an affiliate of The AZEK Company and a leader in PVC recycling and processing. The materials are then reprocessed into the company’s internal products, ensuring they do not end up in landfills.
The program is provided at no charge to participating Printing United 2022 pilot exhibitors and is a win-win-win for all – the print service provider/fabricator, the customer, and the environment – with the opportunity to keep tens of millions of pounds of signage and graphics waste out of landfills each year, revolutionizing the industry to create a more sustainable future.
