Press release from the issuing company
WASHINGTON – U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern names David Ford as Managing Director, Security and Intelligent Documents (SID). In this capacity, Ford will lead the GPO business unit that designs, prints, personalizes and delivers Secure Federal Credentials for many Government Agencies, which includes the U.S. passport for the State Department.
“David’s years and success in a leadership role in our SID business unit make him a natural choice for this position, following Steve LeBlanc’s promotion to GPO Chief of Staff,” said Halpern. “He has proven to be an instrumental member of the team in contributing to the growth of our secure credential operations and providing a first-rate customer experience to our customers. Congratulations to David on his promotion.”
Ford began his career at GPO as member of the Finance Office in 2004 and then as SID’s Operations Manager in 2008. He was part of the GPO team that worked with the State Department to bring the electronic Passport from concept to reality and has more recently been an integral part of producing the Next Generation Passport. Prior to joining GPO, Ford spent 21 years in the private sector where he served in a variety of finance and operation management positions. Ford received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from University of North Carolina, Charlotte and went on to earn a Master’s in Business Administration from Pfeiffer University.
