Press release from the issuing company
Arden Software will showcase the future of packaging design software, unveiling a revolutionary new design tool at German trade fair FachPack 2022.
The global software company will be giving visitors a sneak preview of a radical new feature that’s being developed within Arden’s leading CAD software – Impact.
The ground-breaking Impact RULES feature will see Impact become the first ever packaging design CAD software to offer geometric constraint tools.
Impact RULES not only captures the designer’s intent as they draw, but also enables quick and easy resizing.
The innovative new software feature won’t be released to the public until next year, but visitors at FachPack will get an early preview.
Frank Haustein, Managing Director at Arden Software Germany, said: “We’re incredibly excited to unveil Impact RULES at FachPack 2022, which is a trailblazing new design tool that will become a game changer for the packaging design industry.
“Constraint-based design is more commonly used within CAD software in other industries, such as architectural or Mechanical CAD, but it has never been seen before in packaging design software.
“Impact RULES enriches the entire use of the product’s design and editing capabilities, moving away from the legacy history-based approach to parametrics. It not only captures the designer’s intent as they draw, but also offers the unique advantage that any existing or imported drawing can be resized quickly and effortlessly.
“Impact RULES is a first for the packaging design sector and we’re incredibly proud to be leading the way. We’re confident visitors to FachPack will be as excited about this pioneering new tool as we are.”
By adopting constraint-based design within Impact, users will benefit from increased flexibility in resizing their designs. Every design becomes a template, which can be adapted quickly and easily should a customer’s needs change.
Impact RULES acts as a type of design assistant, ensuring users can avoid starting from scratch by simply adapting their previous designs, saving time and giving them further opportunity to be more creative in their designs.
FachPack – the leading European exhibition for the packaging sector – takes place in Nuremberg, Germany, from 27 – 29 September.
The Arden Software Team will be located in Hall 7A, Stand 242 and will also be showcasing their wider product portfolio, including the latest release of WEBcnx – the powerful project management and workflow software for the packaging sector.
