Heidelberg Wins Three Good Design Awards

Press release from the issuing company

(October 20, 2008) Not one, but three solutions from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) have just won the "Good Design Award 2008" of the "Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization" (JIDPO). The Japanese design experts on the panel of judges singled out the Speedmaster XL 162, the Suprasetter 162 platesetter, and the Prinect Press Center press control station in the investment goods category. All three solutions from Heidelberg made their debut at drupa 2008. The two large-format solutions - the Speedmaster XL 162 and the Suprasetter 162 - have already won the "red dot design award" for outstanding design quality this year.

"The numerous prizes that Heidelberg has already won for the New_Arc design of the solutions it showcased at drupa underline that the company is a world leader in terms of both technology and product design. Regular surveys also confirm that an appealing product design is just as important to customers as functional quality when it comes to deciding on an investment," explains Dr. Jürgen Rautert, Management Board Member for Markets at Heidelberg.

The JIDPO has been presenting the Good Design Award in Japan since 1957 in various categories. This year, a total of 635 companies submitted 1,067 entries, hoping to secure the votes of the panel of experts. Following a comprehensive evaluation process, the judges present the Good Design Award to design solutions that set an international benchmark. The award ceremony took place on October 8, 2008, in Tokyo. Further information is available at www.g-mark.org/english.
