‘Let’s Get Phygital’: Essentra Packaging to Host Workshop at Connect in Pharma Event

Press release from the issuing company

Multinational packaging specialist to the healthcare, personal care and beauty industries, Essentra Packaging, will be putting its expertise on full display at the upcoming Connect in Pharma event.

Not only will the business exhibit a selection of its packaging, leaflet and label innovations at booth D23, Essentra Packaging is also hosting an educational workshop at the event.

Connect in Pharma is a new event set to ignite innovation for pharmaceutical and biotechnology businesses. The exhibition takes place 14 – 15 September at Palexpo, Geneva, Switzerland, and focuses on the development, industrialisation and contract manufacturing of drug delivery systems, alongside pack and filling technologies.

As a founding partner in the event’s inaugural year, Essentra Packaging will be attending to showcase its product range for pharmaceutical businesses, and will host a workshop on 14 September, ‘Phygital packaging to improve sustainability and flexibility’.

The workshop will be hosted by Mark King, Head of Technical at Essentra Packaging, and David González, Technical Product Manager of the company’s Cartons division. The workshop will delve into tools and strategies that combine digital and traditional printing technologies, and how the approach can benefit pharmaceutical labs and contract manufacturers.

Mark King comments: “With a diverse array of businesses putting their innovations in the spotlight at Connect in Pharma, we look set to see the future of pharmaceutical supply chains on display, from packaging through to filling and assembling. Our team at booth D23 is no exception, we’re excited to help delegates get hands-on with our own next generation solutions.

“We will also be sharing our own packaging insights in a workshop that’s designed to give pharma businesses some real food for thought. We’ll be examining the benefits of a ‘phygital’ approach to packaging design and print. This is a strategy we use at Essentra Packaging for our customers, combining the best of digital and ‘traditional’ offset printing. The upshot is that it offers businesses more agility and flexibility, as well as reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable supply chain. We’ll be delving into where these advantages come from, and how businesses can access them. It’s not to be missed!”

Putting the focus on packing line efficiency, versatility and security, attendees will be able to get hands-on with products such as leaflet pre-loading solution ComboPack® and PiggyBack®, a leaflet design technology that optimises print space to help businesses achieve more with less. The company will also showcase a number of its safety and security features, including pre-serialisation, tamper evidence and anti-counterfeit solutions.

Mark adds: ”Connect in Pharma offers something different to many of the established pharma events in the annual calendar. Where many have ballooned in size and scope, the new event has been designed with a laser-sharp focus, dedicated to the industry’s downstream value chain. We’re set for a fantastic event, and our team looks forward to connecting with the pharma sector once again!”
