Press release from the issuing company
Danvers, MA—Techkon USA – the innovation and service leader in color measurement instruments and color management software for commercial offset, flexographic, and digital printers – announces an upcoming Webinar in conjunction with the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA). The FTA “Membernar” called “Spectrophotometers Tell Us More Than Delta E”, is scheduled for Thursday June 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM eastern stand time (EST) and will be led by Techkon USA’s Applications Manager and G7 expert, Jinkai Qian.
Recognizing that flexographic (and other printers and materials manufacturers) are typically familiar with, and trained on, how to retrieve and use Delta E data to ensure color accuracy of their print runs and ink formulations, Jinkai will talk through 5 other key feature/benefits of any leading-edge spectrophotometer that can be extremely useful when setting up print runs and while testing for color accuracy while in production.
Thinking beyond Delta E, these are the other key feature/benefit sets worth getting know on your color spectrophotometer as a flexo printer:
Solids (Process & Spots)/LCh, InkCheck, Color Circle
Overprints/Trapping
Slur/Different Impression Targets
Gray Balance/G7, SID & TVI
Visual Opacity/White Ink
Jinkai will utilize a First Printing Scale as a control element and a Techkon SpectroDensTM 4 as an exemplary color spectrophotometer (or spectrodensitometer). He’ll lead with an overview quickly communicating the differences between a color densitometer and color spectrophotometer, and then dive into the details on how to achieve these other measurements and how to interpolate the data. The session will last about 45 minutes in total, including a 10-minute question and answer period.
