DesignMerge Web from Banta Integrated Media Wins Hot Pick at Seybold
Press release from the issuing company
BOSTON, MA; March 28, 2001 - Banta Integrated Media and its subsidiary Meadows Information Systems today announced that DesignMerge(TM) Web -- the innovative new variable data software application that uses Internet web browsers and QuarkXPress(TM)-based templates to create, customize, proof and print personalized or customized documents -- has been selected by the Seybold Publications editorial staff as a "Hot Pick" at the upcoming Seybold Seminars Boston exhibition.
A "Hot Pick" is the designation Seybold editors use to single out the "must see" new products and technologies on the show floor for Seybold Seminars Boston, which runs April 10-12, 2001 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA. In Booth #2833, Banta Integrated Media is demonstrating DesignMerge Web along with the desktop version DesignMerge Pro, additional XTensions(TM) to QuarkXPress from its Meadows Information Systems affiliate, and its B-media(TM) digital content management software.
With DesignMerge Web, graphic designers and other content originators (marketing departments, advertising agencies, direct mail agencies, etc.) create templates for customized printed materials and make them available to a community of users via the Internet. The DesignMerge Web software's visual user interface capitalizes on existing skill sets - designers are already familiar with QuarkXPress, and marketers and sales staff only need to know how to use a Web browser.
"DesignMerge Web dramatically simplifies the customization process and reduces the production time for making customized marketing materials containing variable data," says Katherine Reisz, Product Manager for variable data solutions at Banta Integrated Media. "For example, it enables print service providers to make templates available to their customers on a Web site and also gives corporate marketing departments customization tools they can make available to employees or dealers in diverse locations via an Intranet. Since it simplifies the process of developing and producing customized documents, DesignMerge Web has important applications for both one-to-one marketing and custom publishing."
