Thomas Gestrich Named Senior VP of Consumer Packaging For International Paper

PURCHASE, N.Y., March 27 - Thomas E. Gestrich, a native of Pittsburgh, has been named senior vice president of Consumer Packaging for International Paper, the world's largest paper and forest products company. Gestrich will serve on the senior leadership team for the company, reporting to David W. Oskin, executive vice president. Gestrich takes on his new assignment after two years as vice president and general manager of International Paper's Beverage Packaging Business. The Consumer Packaging Group employs about 18,000 people worldwide at more than 140 locations and consists of the Beverage Packaging, Foodservice, Shorewood Packaging, Flexible Packaging and Bleached Board businesses. In this position, Gestrich will be responsible for leading the Consumer Packaging Group in achieving its objectives of people development and recognition, customer satisfaction, operational excellence and superior financial performance.
