Press release from the issuing company
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) has been named one of the best employers in the country by Forbes. GPO ranked for the first time on Forbes’ annual list of mid-sized agencies in Government Services. GPO joined the Department of Education and the Government Accountability Office in the category for best Government agencies. During the COVID pandemic GPO has increased its efforts to provide a first-rate customer experience to all of its customers. Additionally, GPO’s Director led the effort to make GPO one of the first Federal agencies to implement a full-time telework and remote work policy for eligible teammates in the wake of the pandemic.

“I am thrilled that Forbes recognizes what I’ve known since I got here — GPO is a great place to work. This honor says so much about our team, which goes above and beyond to ensure that our customers in Congress, the White House and the Federal agencies have an outstanding customer experience with every interaction,” said GPO Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern. “Despite ongoing challenges of the pandemic and changes to the way we work, our teammates have not wavered in their commitment to serving our Nation. This award validates our efforts to prioritize delivering for our customers, while protecting our teammates’ work-life balance.”
Forbes and Statista selected GPO as part of the America’s Best Employers 2022 through an independent survey applied to a vast sample of approximately 60,000 American employees working for companies with more than 1,000 employees in America. More than 23,000 employers were eligible for the honor. Respondents were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their employer to friends and family. The survey evaluated employers on criteria such as salaries and wages, diversity, atmosphere, potential for development, and handling of the COVID pandemic.
