F.W. Dodge Signs Five-Year Contract with Xerox for Advanced Imaging Services
NEW YORK, March 16, 2001 -- F.W. Dodge, the construction industry's premier source for project information, plans, specifications, construction market analysis and forecasts, and a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP), today announced a five-year services contract with Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX). Under the terms of this agreement, Xerox will provide F.W. Dodge with complete document conversion services for its digital plans and specifications service, Dodge Plans.
Dodge Plans provides over 60,000 plans and specifications and more than 80,000 addenda to the construction industry annually, creating a volume of 32.6 million images per year. Currently, Dodge digitizes the plans and specifications at various sites throughout the country. This agreement calls for Xerox to digitize the plans and specifications at its Imaging and Repository Services Center in Hot Springs, AR. This will enable increased efficiencies in uploading plans and specifications to The McGraw-Hill Construction Information Group's construction.com for rapid access, retrieval and use by F.W. Dodge's entire subscriber base.
"The agreement with Xerox perfectly complements F.W. Dodge's strategy to provide better, faster and more comprehensive access to our subscribers," commented Ken Michaels, senior vice president and chief operations officer for The McGraw-Hill Companies' construction.com.
"Our work with F.W. Dodge exemplifies Xerox's ability to provide value at any and all stages of the document lifecycle, " said Mike Massey, vice president/general manager of Operations, Xerox e-Services Business. "Whether the work is paper-based, Web-based or both, Xerox is able to streamline the way people work and help our customers better serve their customers."
