Press release from the issuing company

The latest graphic communications survey finds a significant increase in wages across many employee segments

Dallas, TX – Regional Print Industry Associations of North America have announced the findings of the Wage + Benefits 2021 Survey, the industry’s most comprehensive annual report on labor costs and human resource policies of print-related companies. From top management to the shipping department, the Wage + Benefits Survey annually captures labor costs and human resource practices from nearly 500 firms and more than 15,000 employees across North America. Sponsored by Regional Print Industry Associations of North America and graphic communications financial and business management consulting firm, LB Carlson, the Wage + Benefits Report is used by business and financial leaders to manage labor costs and improve company performance.

“Each year, we conduct the most powerful wage and benefits surveys in the industry,” commented Teresa Campbell, program director and president of PIA MidAmerica. “This year, the data reports the impact of a post covid workforce, with significant hourly rate increases for production operators of sheetfed presses, heat set, and non-heat set web presses, flexographic presses, finishing/converting machines, mail & fulfillment equipment, and more.”

The Wage + Benefit Survey Report offers wages for most industry positions in sixteen categories, segmented by region and company size. The report captures policies for overtime, vacation, PTO, sick time, health insurance, and also includes job descriptions for more than 200 industry positions. The Wage + Benefits Survey Report includes regional and national data covering industry wages sorted by metropolitan area, region, and company size to support effective comparisons and actionable strategic support.

Regional Print Industries Association member participants receive a copy of the published reports at no cost. For past participants of the Wage + Benefits Surveys, the previous year’s employment data submissions and reports are available automatically upon login to the Wage + Benefits online portal, making the survey process quick, easy, and accessible 24/7. Regional Print Industry Associations will be hosting a December 8 webinar to discuss the impact and opportunities of these changing labor dynamics.
