Metal Ink Presentations and Jonathan Ellaby Industry Award Headline INX International’s Participation at Latamcan

Press release from the issuing company

Schaumburg, Ill. – Metal decorating experts from INX International Ink Co. will lead and contribute to several panel discussions held at this year’s Latin American Canmakers Conference (Latamcan), September 22-24 in Mexico City. Jonathan Ellaby, an INX metal decorating expert who recently retired, will be honored with a lifetime achievement award.

The Latamcan technical program begins at 8:30 a.m. on September 23 with Renee Schouten, INX Director of Marketing and the current President of the International Metal Decorating and Packaging Association (IMDPA). In the 3-piece room, she will talk about Fostering Improvements and Advances in the Art of Metal Decorating & Packaging, and delve into the history of the association, the importance of its mission and objectives, membership resources that are available and its value proposition for the industry.

Schouten’s involvement in the industry began in 2001 when she joined INX. Recognized twice by IMDPA with a Presidential Award in 2007 and as Member of the Year in 2018, she joined the association’s board of directors in 2010. Since being elevated to the Executive Board in 2015, she served as the Secretary/Treasurer and Vice President before beginning her two-year term as President a year ago.

Later that morning at 10:30 a.m., INX Color Perfection Manager, Sarah Jacks, will discuss INX Color Perfection – Updates on Color Management for the Metal Decorating Industry, in the 2-piece room. A popular presenter at the last Latamcan event in March 2020, she will provide an in-depth update on the INX Color Perfection® suite of products and services that she manages for brand owners, designers and metal decorators. With INX for the last seven years, Jacks plans to share with the audience advancements in the areas of digital proofing, training and troubleshooting.

Jack Knight and Alex Folloso are both returning speakers and will participate in one of the main events on September 24. A highly respected, longtime industry authority and INX Global Business Development Director of Rigid Packaging, Knight returns as moderator for the Canmaking Forum in the 3-piece room. He will lead the discussion for the 3-Piece Canmaking Process – What it takes to get a commercial can to the consumer, beginning at 9 a.m.

Knight will be joined by representatives from Applied Vision, Environmental Services & Technologies, KBA MetalPrint and PPG Industries, in addition to Folloso, the Director of Metal Decorating Technology for INX. He indicated the group would discuss the canmaking process from coil to can, examine each process and talk about emerging new processes. Folloso, who has been with INX for almost 25 years, will focus on ink technologies and requirements for printing the 3-piece can, as well as the latest regulatory issues.

Jonathan Ellaby and Rudi Roeslein will be recognized with Latamcan Achievement Awards on September 23. Ellaby spent 50 years in the industry, the majority of them in several capacities at INX. He was the Vice President of International Operations when he retired two months ago.

“Jonathan’s knowledge in the metal decorating industry is among the best worldwide,” said John Hrdlick, INX President and CEO. “He has great manufacturing, technical and sales experience that allowed him to manage our global partners, and bring facilities onstream from scratch,” he said in reference to a pair of U.S. plants in Charlotte, North Carolina and Seattle, Washington, and facilities in Brazil and the U.K.
