Press release from the issuing company
OneVision´s Nesting function arranges artworks of different shapes and sizes on one sheet in a space saving manner. The corresponding cutting lines are transferred directly to the cutter.
Car wrapping, signage, wallpaper, wall graphics, giant posters, banners, displays, POS materials or print products in small formats – the product range of wide format print service providers and sign makers can be quite varied. With the Wide Format Automation Suite, OneVision Software AG offers reliable, powerful and flexible software for workflow automation of all print products produced in wide format. Together with technology partner Canon (booth 1-F95) and cutting system specialist Zünd Systemtechnik AG, the software expert (booth 1-E104) will demonstrate at FESPA an automated end-to-end workflow from file input to finishing.
Regensburg/Amsterdam. Print on demand, in the shortest possible time, personalized – changing customer requirements and a pandemic that is causing enormous pressure. These days, print service providers are challenged more than ever to prepare their businesses for the future. Automation is an important component in this process. Professional inkjet printing systems such as the Canon Colorado or Arizona ensure consistently fast printing times. The main challenge now is to utilize the machinery to the maximum. In order to reduce preparation times per print job and synchronize the production workflow, a consistently high level of automation is required.
Seamless end-to-end workflow incl. file analysis, optimization and production file preparation
The Wide Format Automation Suite software stands for a holistic end-to-end workflow. As so called “middleware”, it enables a smooth workflow from file input and handover to print production and postpress. The basis of Wide Format Automation Suite is a flexible, easy-to-use workflow management system that can be seamlessly integrated with the existing IT landscape (e.g. MIS, web shop, DFE). It downloads print files from FTP, web or e-mail servers and sends the files through defined workflows for automated print file preparation. The integrated prepress package checks up to 145 different criteria, and automatically corrects detected errors (e.g. adding bleed, reduce file complexity, color management, flattening transparencies...).
Resource-efficient use of substrate thanks to optimized set up of print forms
In addition, tools specially tailored to the needs of wide format printers – such as nesting, tiling and paneling, adding hemstitches, creating cut lines, etc. – automatically prepare files for the printing and finishing process. The software then automatically transfers the required production files to printing machines and postpress systems.
Thanks to the automated printing process, print service providers achieve a significantly more efficient production of their products and thus benefit from shorter make-ready and production times, fewer manual interventions, and maximum substrate utilization.
Software, printing machines and postpress systems at FESPA
How a smooth interplay of software, printing machines and finishing systems works can be seen live at the FESPA Global Print Expo from October 12 – 15, 2021 in Amsterdam. Together with Canon and Zünd, OneVision will demonstrate how print products from a wide range of materials are prepared and nested with the Wide Format Automation Suite, printed with Canon´s printing systems and then cut on site with the Zünd S3 L-1200 cutter.
