Press release from the issuing company

3/8/01 - Kodak Polychrome Graphics is the friend of all newspaper production people with a range of products and services to assist in fast, efficient and reliable plate production, proofing and imagesetting whilst paying heed to environmental concerns. The Newsetter system imaging the Kodak Polychrome Graphics ThermalNews Printing Plate will be the highlight of the stand. Announced in 1999, this innovative thermal platesetting system has recently been enhanced so that each line can produce over 200 Berliner-format plates per hour and with a total system of two integrated imaging lines, total output can be 400 newspaper plates per hour at 1016dpi. This powerful dedicated newspaper platesetting system brings all the benefits of thermal imaging technology to the most demanding of newspaper production. For smaller production requirements the CreoScitex Trendsetter 2637V AL platesetter has an enhanced productivity level of 92 plates per hour at an output resolution of 1200dpi. The Trendsetter 2637V AL images the Kodak Polychrome Graphics ThermalNews Printing Plate. In today’s world, care of the environment is extremely important, and Kodak Polychrome Graphics provide a complete solution with the Printers Enviroservices Programme (PEP). The PEP offers a wide range of products and services tailored to each customer’s individual requirements. As well as on-site treatments, PEP has a removal service for unwanted waste from customers’ sites. This programme takes care of the safe disposal of not only photographic chemicals but also of waste film, plates, solvents and rags. Kodak Polychrome Graphics staff will be on the Newstec stand to discuss users requirements and suggest cost-effective environmental solutions. The Kodak Gen5 family of films is ideal for all newspaper imagesetting requirements. The films provide a very stable platform that delivers day-to-day consistent results at incredible speeds whilst using less chemicals. Using the latest Kodak processor, Kodak Gen5 film can be processed within 20 seconds whilst using 25 per cent less chemicals than other systems.
