paperloop to Purchase PrintMarket, Gets Ready for printingloop & convertingloop
Press release from the issuing company
3/3/01 (WhatTheyThink) paperloop will acquire PrintMarket.com in a transaction that will enhance paperloop’s strategy to become the number one print, paper and converting portals.
PrintMarket is a portal for print buyers and printers. Founded in 1996, PrintMarket was developed for print buyers dissatisfied with the traditional methods of gathering quotes from printers. The company provides tools to streamline the way print is purchased and managed.
Karen Murray, Director of eMarketplace Services for paperloop, said the purchase will strengthen their focus on the print industry. Said Murray, “paperloop will enter the print and converting space in a big way. paperloop is already the number one site in the paper industry with 110,000 unique monthly users, 600,000 page views and we actually have revenue. paperloop.com is growing at a pace of 20% each month. We expect similar success with the printingloop.com and convertingloop.com sites.”
paperloop has a 7 year exclusive contract with Primedia to license content for their sites. Primedia owns numerous trade publications including American Printer. The deal also allows paperloop businesses to market their services in Primedia’s magazines. Murray said printingloop will roll out updates throughout 2001. “The foundation of our portals include news and information, business tools and actual e-marketplaces.”
Founded in 2000 as a joint venture between United News & Media and Pegasus Capital Advisors L.P., paperloop enters the market leveraging more than a century of experience providing information services to these industries through its purchase of Miller Freeman's 80 leading industry publications and properties. Paperloop is headquartered in San Francisco with offices throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
