Imation & Xerox Announce Availability of New Specialized Proofing Media
Press release from the issuing company
NEW YORK – February 28, 2001 – Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN) and Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today announced the availability of Imation MatchprintTM Co-Branded Xerox Color Laser Proofing Papers. The new, specialized line of proofing media is sold exclusively for use with the Imation MatchprintTM Professional Server and the Xerox DocuColor 12 printer/copier. Co-developed by Imation Color Technologies and Xerox Supplies, the media meets Imation’s precise specifications for digital proofing bases and Xerox specifications for maximum reliability and image quality.
Utilizing specially formulated and coated co-branded Matchprint color laser papers and highly accurate color simulations embedded in the Imation Matchprint Professional Server, creative, prepress and print professionals now have the ability to quickly and inexpensively simulate an Imation Matchprint contract proof. The results are accurate, consistent, archivable color comps, proofs and prints available throughout the entire color workflow.
Imation Matchprint Co-branded Xerox Color Laser Proofing Papers are available in three types: Publication, simulating the SWOP-certified printing stocks used by top magazine and catalog publishers; SuperWhite, a bright white proofing paper preferred by designers and for European print applications; and Commercial, the most commonly used base material for the Matchprint halftone proofing system.
“The Imation Matchprint Professional Server/Xerox DocuColor 12 printer/copier system bridges the gap between low-end proofing solutions and the Matchprint analog contract proof,” stated Warren Vegas, vice president, director of production services, McCann–Erickson Worldwide Advertising, San Francisco. “And the combination of the Imation color server and the specialized media definitely breaks new ground in this industry.”
