DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 16, 2008 – BÖWE BELL + HOWELL (BBH), a leading provider of high-performance document management solutions and services, will unveil its latest innovations at this year's GRAPH EXPO, the most comprehensive graphic communications conference in the Americas. The event, to be held Oct. 26 to Oct. 29 at Chicago's McCormick Place, will showcase the newest technologies and expertise from BBH and hundreds of other world-class vendors. BBH will be located in booth 1253, adjacent to the Mailing and Fulfillment Center.
"Graph Expo provides an ideal venue to demonstrate a wide variety of solutions for print and production mailers of all sizes," said John Lombard, president, BBH Field Operations. "At this year's conference, we have a solid array of new products and services that address the industry's increasing demand for print quality, data integrity and flexibility, and higher throughput and efficiency."
Product highlights will include the launch of a revolutionary inserting system and the new JETVision system for print inspection. JETVision technology will also be used in a unique application that demonstrates its powerful new color verification capabilities. The JETVision system will be playing Guitar Hero by interpreting and analyzing the color on the video game screen, and using that information to activate the guitar controls.
In addition to hardware and software demonstrations in the booth, BBH Services personnel will be available to discuss the expansion of its programs, which include multi-vendor solutions (OEM services), training and development through BBH University and customer productivity solutions, among others.
New product announcements at the show:
Revolutionary inserting system yields changeover from letters to flats in minutes, not hours
Designed to process applications for virtually any mailing operation, this new inserter features a design and operator process that dramatically reduces changeover time and includes self-locking synchronized guide adjustments, an inserting station elevator and uniform hinge-line registration.
Print inspection
BBH will announce a new offering for inspecting the quality and integrity of print in one or two-up, simplex or duplex, grayscale or color print at full production speeds of today's printers.
Other products featured at the BBH booth include:
Inserting systems
Turbo Premium - New features optimize speed, ease of use and integrity
The high-speed inserter, configured for two document streams and handling up to 72,000 sheets per hour, will feature an automated insert feeder with no-touch set-up; a redesigned, more intuitive operating system; and VEKtor scanning technology for full document imaging and IMB content verification.
Enduro
Processing up to 11,000 envelopes per hour, the inserting system will demonstrate Account Number Verification (ANV) and Database-Driven Inserting (DBDI). Using this Automated Document Factory-enabling technology, document status will be logged during processing and incorrect documents will be bypassed without system stops.
Plastic Card System
The high-speed card mailing system, configured for personalized transpromotional output, will accept 11" x 17" cut-sheet input, perform cross- and tri-folding and feature selective card feeding.
Sorting Solutions
Criterion APEX
Running the latest BBH software sorting platform, NetSort, the Criterion APEX sorter will be attached to a three-tier X-Class bin system. The Criterion sorter will be handling IMB-enabled mail from the Turbo and Enduro inserting systems, and reading the live IMB to sort mailpieces in sequential bin order.
Vision and Reading Solutions
JETVision Platinum
The next generation JETVision Platinum system will demonstrate integrity and quality control for #10, 6" x 9" and flat envelopes for documents ranging from a single page to ¾ of an inch.
JETVision Express
JETVision Express, the affordable package that companies can install themselves, will demonstrate many of its monitoring and tracking solutions such as color verification, sequence tracking and matching. In a second area, a JETVision Express system will be configured to play the popular video game Guitar Hero to demonstrate the endless possibilities for applying vision technology-from tracking mail, monitoring quality, verifying data integrity, to nearly any vision application, in any industry.
VEKtor
The VEKtor reading system will showcase the benefits of vision technology, including quick job setup and the ability to handle multiple applications using multiple barcodes. VEKtor is completely integrated with the BICOS operating system, providing centralized reading setup and control.
ADF Solutions
BÖWE One
This fully integrated, platform-independent software solution allows users to interface and connect with virtually any type or brand of software or hardware. BÖWE One will be running live, connected to every system in the BBH booth, as well as systems in nine other vendor booths.
"Our booth at GRAPH EXPO represents the best BBH has to offer: a full range of solutions for the print industry and beyond, backed by the knowledge and expertise our customers have come to trust," said Lombard. "It's an ideal way to show our future and current clients how BBH can be their partner in success."
