IKON’s Barb Pellow to Keynote at OnDemand, Will Roadmap e-Printing Success
Press release from the issuing company
Valley Forge, Pennsylvania—February 23, 2001—IKON Office Solutions (NYSE: IKN) executives will join leading experts on e-commerce and on-demand printing at this year's On Demand Digital Printing & Publishing Strategy Conference and Exposition, the largest trade show for the graphic arts production industry, to discuss the emerging trends in the printing and publishing industry. The event will be held February 28 - March 2 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
Barb Pellow, IKON's Senior Vice President of Marketing, will be a keynote speaker March 1, at the day's opening conference session, "e-Printing Live! Is It for Real?" Pellow will examine the impact of the Internet on the printing industry and will lay out a strategy for using the Web to improve competitiveness and enhance customer relationships.
"One approach that offers great flexibility," Pellow states, "is the Application Service Provider business model. This model gives local firms the critical mass of sophisticated e-commerce capabilities they need to stay competitive, without sacrificing their unique, appealing characteristics as a community-based business."
According to Pellow, "The failure or slowdown of many dot-com startups in the print e-procurement space should not be confused with the desire of print buyers to have access to e-procurement solutions via the Internet. In our industry, print buyers value the relationships they have with their print service providers. But as their companies move rapidly to a Web work style, they want the 'bricks and mortar' of their print service provider to be a 'click' away."
Last year, Pellow was awarded the Cygnus Business Media's Print On Demand Pioneer Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the growth of the print-on-demand industry. In addition to her keynote remarks on e-printing the morning of March 1, she will speak at a conference session later that day on "Developing Your Own Branded Internet-Enabled Print Procurement and Collaboration Solutions." On Feb. 28, Pellow will share thoughts on how conference attendees can further strengthen their core capabilities, as she speaks on the topic "Outsourcing at Its Best."
IKON will also be showcasing its full range of products and solutions for the production print environment in Booth #823 at the convention site. Among the solutions to be shown will be IKON's Digital Express 2000 e-services offering for Web-enabled on-demand printing and document management, and a series of scalable, digital printing solutions that address ease-of-entry as well as high-volume capabilities for color and black and white digital printing.
The On Demand Digital Printing & Publishing Strategy Conference and Exposition is an annual exposition and strategy conference that showcases digital solutions. This year the event will include over 250 exhibitors and 50 conference sessions from Feb. 28 - March 2, with tutorials starting Feb. 27. This year's event includes not only the usually scheduled On Demand Conference, which concentrates on digital printing and publishing, but also an e-Printing and Publishing Strategy Forum (a conference and expo area focusing on online print providers) and a Dynamic Content Conference (covering the electronic business communications industry).
