Press release from the issuing company
MCS, an inkjet manufacturing leader, announced the release of the Eagle 8540 monochrome inkjet module to the United Kingdom market through their partner, Promail LTD. The Eagle 8540 is a high-resolution monochrome inkjet module that can be integrated into cut-sheet and web printing processes. With 216mm of print coverage per module, the printer can cover an entire A4 print width without an operator's manual stitching. "Inkjet has never been more cost-effective or simpler to add to your manufacturing process," says Kevin Loos, MCS's International Sales Director. "With no click cost and the low maintenance of piezo inkjet, we expect mail manufacturers to see an immediate benefit to their production cost."
The Eagle 8540 is suitable for numerous applications in the mail manufacturing market, including letter personalization, addressing, hybrid printing, and more. "We noticed that many mail manufacturers in the UK are still using older technologies such as cartridge-based inkjet or toner systems which are both outdated and cost a fortune to operate," remarked Kevin. "The Eagle 8540 is the rare solution that can increase your productivity, reduce your maintenance cost, and your production cost all in one package." Thanks to the low maintenance and cost-effective inks piezo technology allows, the MCS Eagle can reduce imaging cost 75-90% compared to traditional toner or cartridge-based inkjets.
While the high speeds of the Eagle have made it increasingly popular, the mailing industry has been impressed by the range of paper stocks – coated and uncoated - that can be printed using the Eagle. MCS’s sister company, Think Ink now provides hybrid pigment inks that can adhere to stocks that were once difficult to print on. It is now possible to print on aqueous-coated materials at full speed.
The Eagle 8540 Specifications include:
The Eagle 8540's versatile design allows it to integrate into customers' existing equipment, including high-speed finishing lines, cut-sheet bases, and web towers. Also, MCS manufacturers its own cut-sheet bases and web towers to provide a complete turnkey solution.
The 8540 is the latest addition to a long list of UK installs by MCS and Promail, including Eagle 30 systems in line with enclosing lines for read and print and offline systems for self-mailer addressing.
MCS has been in business for 30 years and has thousands of installations worldwide. The Eagle 8540 has three years of operation history in other markets, including Germany and the USA. "We're excited to bring this proven solution to the UK for the first time; we are looking forward to seeing our partners and their clients succeed with this solution," stated Kevin Loos.
MCS will have the Eagle 8540 with the rest of its portfolio available for virtual demos out of their Bolingbrook Demo studio for a June 2021 month-long open house.
