Press release from the issuing company
Toronto Oobt. – The scholarship was established to honour the late Warren Wilkins, a visionary leader in the Canadian printing industry who worked diligently to foster and support new talent for the industry. It provides special recognition to a particularly deserving student starting their post-secondary studies toward a career in the graphic communications industry.
“We’re pleased to announce that Samir Macklai, a first year Ryerson University student, has been selected to receive the $5,000 scholarship for the 2020/2021 academic year” said Jeff Ekstein, Chair of Canadian Print Scholarships.
“Samir is a first year Graphic Communications Management student who has caught everyone’s attention; no small achievement given that this school year we are distanced and delivering classes virtually.” mentioned Tannisha Lambert, Program Manager for GCM at Ryerson University.
“The credit for this accomplishment is attributed to my professors and peers for their support and guidance throughout the whole process.” added Macklai.
The mission of the Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund is to attract the brightest and best students available to the graphic communications industry by providing financial assistance to enroll and continue in a post-secondary management or technical program at an approved institution.
