Press release from the issuing company
Charlotte, N.C. – Printful moves its California fulfillment center to a larger location to scale production capacity. The company will create around 100 new jobs to double the size of the California team by the end of 2021.
Printful plans on moving their California operations from Chatsworth to Valencia during the third quarter of 2021. The Valencia facility, at 93,000 sq. ft., is nearly three times larger than the one in Chatsworth. Due to the expansion and growing demand for Printful's services, the company plans on investing 10 million US dollars to increase the amount of DTG printers almost three-fold, and purchase additional equipment for embroidery and poster fulfillment.
“California is our busiest state in terms of deliveries. It's necessary to stay in this area and expand our operations to fulfill the needs of our ever-growing customer base, and since LA is home to central shipping hubs, we'll be able to maintain fast delivery times,” comments Davis Siksnans, CEO & Co-Founder of Printful.
When the move is complete, Printful will no longer be fulfilling products in Chatsworth. Before fulfillment in the new facility can begin, the space will have to be renovated, so the company estimates that this location could be fully functional in time for the next Black Friday Cyber Monday shopping season.
Just like the current California location, the Valencia facility will offer HQ pickup—the option to pick up orders directly from the fulfillment center. Currently, Printful has two locations with HQ pickup points: one in California, and the other in Latvia. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in-person pickups are currently closed for safety reasons.
Additionally, the Valencia facility will offer warehousing services. At the moment, warehousing is available in Latvia, Spain, North Carolina, and Canada, and the current California facility offers warehousing for pack-ins only.
