Press release from the issuing company
Technology greatly benefits users of the Truepress Jet L350UV SAI Series.
Rolling Meadows, Ill. – SCREEN GA and CGS ORIS announce a joint effort in which they develop a proprietary color matching solution to accurately communicate brand colors between digital presses, including ones from different manufacturers, and between flexographic and digital presses using a highly efficient algorithm. Hitherto color exchange format, otherwise known as CxF, was an effective, but time-consuming process requiring multiple rounds of printing to evaluate color accuracy. The new algorithm quickly predicts halftones from limited colorimetric data and automatically generates the CxF data.
The new technology is available for the CGS ORIS CxF Toolbox, the software solution to store, edit, and communicate colors quickly, reliably, and safely. The operator simply needs to produce a color chart and enter the color measurement data into the CxF Toolbox. Once the data is entered, the system automatically generates the CxF data. Minimal color expertise by the operator is required. The CxF Toolbox is connected to the CGS ORIS Color Cloud, the cloud-based platform provided by CGS ORIS to communicate all stored CxF data allowing for any authorized user from around the world to access the information at any time.
“Correct color matching is imperative for many companies who rely on printers to accurately reproduce their logos which are often printed on labels and other forms of packaging. If the color is off, the brand is off,” said Mark Schlimme, vice president of marketing for SCREEN Americas. “The alliance between SCREEN GA and CGS ORIS will revolutionize how packaging print providers match colors across print technology.” said Schlimme.
Users of the Truepress Jet L350UV SAI series will benefit from this newly formed alliance since the new CxF technology will further reduce the need for highly skilled operators and reduce overall production time to achieve color accuracy. Ideal for labels and paperboard, the Truepress Jet L350UV SAI series was developed in response to the industry’s need for mixed, short-run printing for the high-price and luxury segments. The system enables significantly richer color expression as well as superior scalability.
