Press release from the issuing company
ST. PETERSBURG, FL, January 4, 2001 - Danka Business Systems PLC (NASDAQ: DANKY) today announced agreements totaling more than $38 million with Kinko's Inc., a world leader in visual communications services and document copying. The agreement includes initial placements of Canon CLC 1120 and CLC 1150 Color Laser Copiers and other color copiers over the next four months.
The new contract for Canon equipment builds upon a previous contract for Canon imageRUNNER™ 600/550 digital copiers, which was announced in March. Danka will also service and support this equipment.
"Danka's ability to supply and support innovative Canon digital equipment provides us with a competitive advantage when servicing our retail and corporate customers," said Ross Waddell, Kinko's Vice President of Purchasing. "Danka's service and after-sales support of Kinko's locations continues to be outstanding-and we look forward to having Danka involved in our future growth."
"Canon is the leading copier producer in the United States and their products provide our customers with valuable new features and reliable performance. Kinko's relies upon us to provide not just emerging technologies, but the expertise to properly configure and support those solutions as well," said Brian Merriman, Danka's President and Chief Operating Officer.
