Press release from the issuing company
Kennesaw, Ga. – With previous success on the Versafire digital platform, Campbell Print Center, a commercial printer in Harrisonburg, Virginia, installed a Versafire EM and a Versafire EV from Heidelberg in order to keep up with the productivity and efficiency needs of its customers.
Color Consistency, Fast Turnaround Times
Delivering high quality products, the 5-color Versafire EV offers Campbell Print Center reliable production that is perfected on up to 27.5” substrates, while also offering a variety of new quality capabilities to the company’s offerings. In addition to CMYK standard jobs, the engine expands the gamut with 5-color rendering using neon yellow or neon pink. Also, the company can include embellishments with the fifth color options, which include white, clear varnish, neon yellow, neon pink, and new invisible red. Thanks to the Versafire EV, Campbell Print center is able to print on colored paper or clear synthetics and produce extraordinary effects while printing white first and then process CMYK colors on top, all in one pass.
“It’s crucial for us to provide our customers with the best print job possible,” said John Beery, President of Campbell Print Center. “Thanks to the Versafire EV, we have the quality of an offset press, but with the ability to do short-runs with very quick turnaround times.”
Printing at speeds up to 95 pages per minute, the Versafire EV offers a high level of productivity. Thanks to inline color management and inline register, Campbell Print Center can expect stability, precision, and quality on all its jobs.
In order to boost the Versafire EV’s efficiency and productivity, Campbell Print Center uses the Prinect Digital Front End (DFE). Using Heidelberg’s color management and renderers (both tried and tested in offset printing), the Prinect DFE enables print production to be automated and standardized for excellent efficiency, greater transparency, and faster job flow.
According to Beery, “The DFE is unifying our workflow and allowing us to have color consistency across multiple platforms. It’s definitely allowing us to keep up with our mission to provide our customers with the best quality possible.”
Great Quality – A Campbell Print Center and Heidelberg Promise
In need of a new black and white digital press, Campbell Print Center chose the Versafire EM, which prints at 136 images per minute at 1,200 x 4,800 dpi. With a double toner cartridge bay and double set of vacuum fed paper drawers with 8,850 sheets per tray capacity, the Versafire EM guarantees uninterrupted production and high availability.
Alongside Campbell Print Center’s three Versafire presses, the company also has a Suprasetter A 74 CtP device, a Speedmaster SM 74, and a POLAR 92 high-speed cutter, and also uses several Saphira Consumables on the company’s equipment. According to Beery, “We choose Heidelberg equipment because of the quality. We know that if we want to produce great quality, we must buy quality. And that’s what Heidelberg provides.”
