R.R. Donnelley Acquires Interactive Dataflow Technology, Inc.

CHICAGO, - R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company (NYSE: DNY) has acquired Interactive Dataflow Technology, Inc., an application service provider based in Lanham, Md. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Privately held Interactive Dataflow Technology provides the federal government with secure, customized web-based solutions that automate print procurement processes to improve efficiency and make communications more effective. Among some of the customer benefits: Bidding on print jobs is enhanced by providing online information about printers; print request forms can be completed more quickly; time for request approvals is significantly shortened; sourcing print jobs is made simpler; payment and billing are processed electronically; and order status can be tracked more accurately.
Founded in 1999, Interactive Dataflow Technology has eight full-time employees. Some of the federal agencies it serves include the U.S. Department of Treasury, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of Health, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
"Coupling Interactive Dataflow Technology's workflow solutions with R.R. Donnelley's broad range of services, including printing, will enable government customers to focus on their mission-critical functions and operate more effectively and efficiently," said Ronald E. Daly, president of R.R. Donnelley Telecommunications. "The acquisition advances R.R. Donnelley's business strategy of speeding growth in value-added services."
Daly added that the initial growth strategy is to increase penetration in the federal government market, while exploring additional opportunities in state and local government and other vertical markets.
