Ripon, Wis. – The Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) recently honored Walsworth–Ripon and its clients with 11 Graphics Excellence Awards. The entries garnered five Best of Category, three Best of Division, two Awards of Excellence and one Certificate of Merit. One entry, the Sophisticated Weddings – New York Edition, Volume 1, received Best of Category and Best of Division honors. The award winners also represented several different product categories including catalogs, magazines, books, newspapers and booklets.

With winners selected by a team of independent, out-of-state judges, the Graphic Excellence Awards competition is one of the largest and most prestigious regional printing competitions in the nation. The team of judges is composed of experts in the graphic communications industry. An entry is judged first on technical expertise and the quality of printing, then on design features and overall graphic appeal.

Walsworth–Ripon’s award-winning entries were:

• Best of Category – Digging Dog Nursery 2020 Catalog, Product/Service Catalog (one, two or three colors)
• Best of Division – 2020 Lionel Catalog, Product Catalogs (four or more colors)
• Best of Division – Trek Travel 2020 Catalog, Architectural/Art/Travel/Other Magazines
• Award of Excellence – Ripon College Catalyst Curriculum, Booklets (four or more colors)
• Award of Excellence – Marquette County Visitor Guide 2019, Newspapers
• Certificate of Merit – Col. Littleton 2020 Catalog, Product Catalogs (four or more colors)

All five winners in Best of Category will automatically move on to the Benny awards and possibly the Best of Division as well. The award celebration normally held in May has been rescheduled for September 8, 2020. There will be simultaneous award ceremonies in two locations, the Medinah Shrine Center in Addison, Illinois, and the Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
