PALO ALTO, Calif. and HELSINKI, Finland, Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP) and Nokia today announced the integration of highly secure technologies that are expected to provide enterprise customers with a safe, rapid way to provide wireless and seamless end-to-end transactions. Through the integration, HP Praesidium Virtualvault bulletproof security software is offered with the secure Nokia Activ server to provide one of the industry's most secure wireless application protocol (WAP) server solutions. The integrated Nokia Activ server solution will enable easy, open interoperability between key components by bridging the enterprise and the outside world to safely deliver content to mobile users. The solution includes HP Virtualvault, the same technology that currently protects Web applications and transactions at more than 125 financial institutions in 24 countries, including the top five in the U.S. and Japan. "As a result of this innovative WAP server security technology and our relationship with Nokia, businesses can now extend their existing high-volume e-services securely," said Roberto Medrano, general manager, HP Internet Security Solutions Division.
