Canon imageRUNNER 400S -- networked office system for mid-volume workgroups
Available:
May 2002 at authorized Canon U.S.A. dealers, Canon Business
Solutions locations.
Price:
MSRP Base Engine: $10,290
MSRP Print Controllers: Multi-PDL Board-P1 -- $4,675, Printer
Board-R1 -- $3,675
The new Canon imageRUNNER 400S is a modified model with two new optional and powerful print controllers, the Printer Board-R1 that offers PCL support and Multi-PDL Board-P1 that offers PCL and Adobe PS 3 support. The unit delivers new print capabilities, 40 page-per-minute (ppm) digital copying and improved scanning capability.
The print controllers permit more effective network printing and fax functions. Performance is enhanced with a faster CPU (central processing unit) and additional memory capacity in the form of RAM and Hard Disk storage. The controllers ship with 128Mb standard memory, a Pentium III 5000Mhz processor and a 6 Gb hard disk. Leveraging these enhancements, the Canon imageRUNNER 400S models equipped with either print controller are capable of driving greater document throughput and increasing overall office productivity. Canon also upgraded scan accessibility to improve overall usability, eliminating a number of steps necessary to place the device in scanning mode.
The new model combines the power of digital black and white copying technology with high speed network printing, faxing, and scanning. Offered in standalone copier configurations, it can be upgraded to support additional functions. All units feature 1200 x 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) image quality and standard trayless duplexing. An Automatic Document Feeder and other paper handling/finishing accessories are optional.
With optional 10/100 Ethernet and Token Ring connectivity, a duty cycle of 150,000 impressions per month and finishing options that allow for offset single and multi-position stapling, v-fold, and automatic booklet making, the Canon imageRUNNER 400S is suited for mid-volume workgroups and departments. A combination of standard trayless duplexing and a maximum paper capacity of 5,550 sheets, which can be changed or added to "on the fly", assures uninterrupted productive operation of long copy, print, or fax jobs.
An internal Image Server enables the machine to host unique standard applications, including: Scan Once Print Many, which reduces wear and tear on originals and scan mechanisms by making multiple copies from images stored in memory; Automatic Image Orientation, capable of automatically rotating images based upon the orientation of paper in the paper cassettes; Confidential User Mailboxes for print jobs that require a high degree of privacy; and Automatic Booklet Making for proper page ordering of booklets.
Canon imageRUNNER 85 -- for production printing environments
Available:
May 2002 at authorized Canon U.S.A. dealers, Canon Business
Solutions locations.
Price:
MSRP Base Engine: $28,000
With Canon Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-B3: $32,900
With Canon imagePASS-M1 print controller: $35,950
The Canon imageRUNNER 85 is an 85 page-per-minute (ppm) black-and-white production printer with a robust set of document throughput and finishing capabilities designed to enhance overall productivity. The print engine can support a monthly print volume of up to 400,000 impressions, and is intended for use within Host-Based Print, Central Reprographic Departments, Print-for-Pay establishments, and distributed Print On Demand environments in mid-to-large size corporations.
The Canon imageRUNNER 85 offers several document-finishing options, all of which include standard single and multi-position stapling of up to 100 sheets. Automatic saddle-stitch booklet making, 2 and 3-hole punch, and support for Z-folding and document insertion are available with optional accessories. For print jobs of extended length, an optional 3,500-sheet paper deck brings total on-line capacity to 7,650 sheets. The Canon imageRUNNER 85 also prints on tabs for generating reports and other documents requiring chapters.
Standard PCL5e, PCL6 and PostScript printing at 600 x 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) resolution and 256 grayscale can be accessed through the printer's 10/100 Ethernet connection. Token Ring connectivity is optional. To deliver these printing capabilities, customers have the choice of two optional print controllers - the Canon Multi-PDL Printer Kit-B3 (best suited for text intensive documents where PCL page description language represents the bulk of jobs sent to the printer) and the Canon imagePASS-M1 Controller (designed for applications that require handling of true Adobe PostScript 3 files, large complex graphics and variable data output.)
For confidential printing, a standard 100-user mailbox allows users to send jobs to the Canon imageRUNNER 85 and hold them at the device until the correct password code is entered on the control panel.
Canon imageRUNNER 3300i -- for mid volume workgroups and corporate departments
Available:
May 2002 at authorized Canon U.S.A. dealers, Canon Business
Solutions locations.
Price:
MSRP $13,225 MFP configuration, $10,000 printer configuration
The Canon imageRUNNER 3300i MFP model builds on the currently available Canon imageRUNNER 3300 by fully leveraging Canon's IP Architecture via the inclusion of Canon's Universal Send Technology. It also is available in a printer only configuration, allowing customers to take advantage of operating cost efficiencies when compared to traditional laser printer technology.
Serving as a central hub for the distribution and management of corporate information, the Canon imageRUNNER 3300i eliminates barriers to communication between paper and digital formats. At the core of the device is a 33 page-per-minute (ppm) digital copier/printer/scanner with optional faxing capability.
Canon's Universal Send technology, standard on this model, allows users to scan and distribute documents simultaneously via e-mail, Internet fax, Super G3 fax and local area network in a single operation. With this technology, Canon imageRUNNER 3300i users are afforded more effective capabilities in managing overall document workflow and the ability to dramatically reduce the costs associated with traditional document distribution and delivery, such as overnight courier and postal delivery. For desktop manipulation and routing of scanned images pushed using Universal Send, Canon offers as standard with each system a 10-user version of eCopy Desktop.
With a large color touch screen LCD display, the Canon imageRUNNER 3300i supports 1200 x 600 dpi and 256 grayscale resolution, automatic duplexing, 10/100 Ethernet connectivity and PCL5e, PCL6 and PostScript 3 printing as standard.
Finishing options include an internally mounted finisher that offers basic stapling capabilities up to 2 and 3 hole punch options and saddle stitch booklet making. Cascade Copy and Remote Copy functions allow users to split copy jobs across multiple Canon imageRUNNER 3300i models. A Remote User Interface function allows access and management of the device over the Internet.
The Canon imageRUNNER 3300i epitomizes the full capabilities of Canon's imagePlatform architecture and delivers a comprehensive set of capabilities in a small but powerful package.
