The printing industry had a pretty good summer. Things had looked a tad bleak in June, but things picked up in July and shipments hit $7.68 billion in August, up from $7.44 billion in July. Turns out this was the second best August in the last five years.

January to August shipments are at $58.65 billion, still a bit short of 2023’s $59.60 billion but closing in. Peeking at the few responses to our 2024 Print Business Survey which went live last week, 2024 has been a mixed bag—some respondents are having a banner year (perhaps by making banners?) some have seen a slowdown from last year. We’ll see what the consensus ends up being when all precincts have reported in.

So, yes, our Fall 2024 Print Business Outlook Survey is now in the field! Take it early and often here.
