It’s a whole new world for print providers. For those who understand the forces that are driving today’s crowded marketplace, it’s a world of opportunity for growth and value. Your customers are rethinking their business models and focusing on techniques to more effectively communicate with the purchasers of their products and services. You need to rethink your services portfolio to remain competitive.

When we talked about marketing services five years ago, the focus was on variable data and creating a personalized URL that linked to a landing page with pre-populated information. Although these capabilities are still important, customers are seeking business partners that have even more to offer. Today’s clients want a strategic partner that will help them with their customer communications strategy.

In July 2016, InfoTrends released a study entitled Service Expansion Opportunities for Document Outsourcing, which surveyed 250 enterprise executives in the U.S. and Canada. When respondents were asked about the importance of various capabilities to their strategic planning process, the top priority was delivering a seamless customer experience. Nearly 91% of respondents stated that developing a seamless customer experience across all communication channels was important or very important. Given the rapid and widespread adoption of smartphones, mobile is certainly part of that experience. To this end, 80% of respondents said that developing a mobile communication strategy was important or very important.
