Kyocera is an established supplier to the printing industry and its production printing inkjet heads are found in many printers. Kyocera is also a well-known supplier of office devices. What was lacking until recently, were complete print solutions for the professional printing industry.

This changed in 2019 with the launch of the TASKalfa Pro 15000c. It quickly became an established product thanks to its great price-performance ratio. About 500 units have been installed worldwide for mailing, in-house print, and some publishing applications. For general commercial print support for coated paper was missing, however.

With the TASKalfa Pro 55000c, Kyocera upped the ante considerably. Thanks to the water-based SC-inks from the development partner Screen, the new device can print on standard coated stock without any pretreatment or primer. The paper path has been redesigned for heavier stocks up to 400 gsm and NIR drying was added to support heavy coverage and coated stocks. Crucially also the imaging resolution was lifted to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. Besides the Kyocera GC-9100 controller, a Fiery print controller is available for professional users. The press is now rated for up to 3.5 million A4 images per month.

Other tried and tested components and features stayed the same. The device still prints 150 A4 pages per minute and supports widths up to 330mm. Ricoh supplies the paper decks and stackers. Optional is a feeder for long sheets that allows for a 3-up imposition, while banner printing up to 1,220 mm can be achieved via the bypass tray. In-line finishing, for example from SDD or Plockmatic, can be added.

First installations of the TASKalfa Pro 55000c will start in December 2024. The device will also be available from Kyocera’s subsidy Triumph Adler and from development partner Screen under the Truepress JET S320 label.

B3 High-Quality Inkjet mit Kyocera

Kyocera ist ein etablierter Zulieferer der Druckindustrie und seine Produktionsdruck-Inkjetköpfe sind in vielen Druckern zu finden. Kyocera ist auch ein bekannter Anbieter von Bürogeräten. Was bis vor kurzem noch fehlte, waren komplette Drucklösungen für die professionelle Druckindustrie.

Das änderte sich 2019 mit der Einführung des TASKalfa Pro 15000c. Er hat sich dank seines guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisses schnell etabliert. Rund 500 Geräte wurden weltweit für Mailings, Inhouse-Druck und einige Verlagsanwendungen installiert. Für den allgemeinen Akzidenzdruck fehlte jedoch die Unterstützung für gestrichenes Papier.

Mit dem TASKalfa Pro 55000c hat Kyocera hier einen deutlichen Schritt nach vorne gemacht. Dank der wasserbasierten SC-Tinten des Entwicklungspartners Screen kann das neue Gerät gestrichene Standardpapiere ohne Vorbehandlung oder Primer bedrucken. Der Papierweg wurde für schwerere Bedruckstoffe bis 400 g/m² neu gestaltet, und die NIR-Trocknung wurde hinzugefügt, um auch stark deckende und beschichtete Bedruckstoffe zu unterstützen. Entscheidend ist auch, dass die Bildauflösung auf 1.200 x 1.200 dpi angehoben wurde. Neben dem Kyocera GC-9100-Controller ist für professionelle Anwender auch ein Fiery-Druckcontroller erhältlich. Die Druckmaschine ist nun für bis zu 3,5 Millionen A4-Bilder pro Monat ausgelegt.

Andere bewährte Komponenten und Funktionen wurden beibehalten. Das Gerät druckt weiterhin 150 A4-Seiten pro Minute und unterstützt Breiten bis zu 330 mm. Ricoh liefert die Papierdecks und Stapler. Optional gibt es eine Zuführung für lange Blätter, die ein 3-Up-Ausschießen ermöglicht, während Bannerdrucke bis zu 1.220 mm über das Bypass-Fach möglich sind. Inline-Finishing, zum Beispiel von SDD oder Plockmatic, kann hinzugefügt werden.

Die ersten Installationen des TASKalfa Pro 55000c werden im Dezember 2024 beginnen. Das Gerät wird auch bei Kyoceras Förderer Triumph Adler und beim Entwicklungspartner Screen unter dem Label Truepress JET S320 erhältlich sein.
