HP Indigo’s drupa Announcements Aim to “Break the Analog to Digital Boundaries”

HP Indigo has not slowed down in their mission to drive the digital transition of print and packaging production. For drupa 2024, they have lots of new product announcements, all of them targeted at “Breaking the Analog to Digital Boundaries.”

HP Indigo held their pre-drupa event in conjunction with the DSCOOP Edge Indy event. This year being a drupa year, the event not only provided a forum for customer education and discussion, it also gave them a chance to see the latest Indigo innovations pre=drupa. 

The main focus of the pre-drupa announcements was “Breaking the Analog to Digital Boundaries.” Since 1993, Indigo has been at the forefront of the digital transformation of printing and packaging. Their LEP (Liquid Electro Photographic) technology has evolved since that time to increase quality, versatility and productivity. In May of 2020, HP introduced LEPX a significantly faster next generation engine, with its first product implementation in the V12. However, the development of the LEP technology has continued as well. The Series 5 HP 100K B2+ digital press is a prime example of that, as is the HP 200K flexible packaging press. These presses are really challenging the existing analog technologies in the market. For example, one Indigo 100K press has been able to produce 2M impressions in oneweek, which resulted in a 70% utilization rate. The productivity of the 200K presses have also been impressive. So where do they go from here?
