SunDance Boosts Automation with Tharstern API Integration into HP PrintOS

Press release from the issuing company

Orlando, Fla. – SunDance, a print and marketing solutions company, has boosted automation for its HP Indigo digital presses by integrating their Tharstern MIS into the HP PrintOS.

Using PrintOS Print Beat Jobs API and Tharstern API, the Orlando-based Sundance has created a more transparent view of jobs so they can easily work out their estimated times vs actual times of production. As a result, Sundance can see where production falls short, see what jobs exceed expectations, and identify ways to pass efficiencies on as cost savings to clients.

Susanna Toppa, Automation and Development Manager at SunDance, drove the integration after consulting with HP and Tharstern. “We are familiar with gathering data from APIs and we knew where to connect it with Tharstern’s API. HP had very good documentation and we were already familiar with Tharstern, so guidance was only needed for specific questions and always available from both parties,” Toppa said.

“We love when our customers make the most of the automation available, especially when they become self-sufficient with using the API.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing the positive effect it will have on their business, and also working together with HP to increase the number of customers using the API to achieve their goals,” added Susan Moore, Customer Enrollment Director from Tharstern.

Sundance discovered PrintOS Print Beat Jobs API on HP PrintOS Marketplace. “It is exciting to see how HP customers like Sundance activate free trial subscriptions in the PrintOS Marketplace, then implement integrations without needing help. It confirms the PrintOS model and helps HP customers respond faster to new opportunities for growth and operational efficiency,” said Bob Raus, HP PrintOS and Partner Program Category Manager for the Americas.

“Getting this data now allows us to answer high-level questions about business decisions that we weren’t able to do before. Previously, we might be reliant on gut feels and overall perception, not hard data. With the added transparency we’ve gained, answering questions like “Is our machine performing the way we expect?” “Do we need to purchase a new machine?” “Should we hire an additional operator?” and other broader long-term questions can now be evident based on factual and reliable data.” Toppa explained.

Tharstern and SunDance are both attending the Dscoop Edge conference in Orlando and will be taking part in panel discussions.

Raus will be delivering a PrintOS session for executives where they can learn how to use PrintOS to measure, improve, and grow.”

Both Susan Moore, and Keith McMurtrie, CEO of Tharstern, will be delivering sessions at Dscoop Edge Orlando. Lear more at the Tharstern website https://www.tharstern.com/events/exhibitions/dscoop-19
