Ripon Increases Bindery Automation with Purchase of MPT-17 Stretch Film Bander

Press release from the issuing company

Ripon, Wis. – With the constant challenge of improving production speeds, lowering costs, and achieving even higher quality standards, Ripon Printers recently added the advanced MPT-17 stretch film bander to its already extensive bindery capabilities. Manufactured by Controls Engineering (Middleton, WI) the new equipment provides an operator-loaded bander that applies a cost-effective and product-friendly banding material for perfect bound or saddle-stitched books and general commercial print materials. The result is a secure, recyclable banding product that reduces labor and strain on operators.

“Achieving customer delight requires technology throughout the production process that adds speed and other benefits to both our customers and machine operators,” says Julie Newhouse, president of Ripon Printers. “Even seemingly smaller technology acquisitions contribute in significant ways to our overall objectives.”

The MPT-17 stretch bander complements the installation last spring of an MCS Eagle FlexPrint Inkjet System, one of the most advanced inkjet systems in the mailing and printing industries. These additions signify Ripon’s commitment to adding technology that improves flexibility, speed, accuracy, and cost-efficiencies.
