EFI and Pitman Sign Distribution Agreement for Jetrion
Press release from the issuing company
Ypsilanti, MI (USA) -- September 8, 2008 -- EFI announced today that it has signed a strategic distribution agreement for its range of Jetrion industrial inkjet systems with leading North American graphic arts industry supplier Pitman. The agreement expands the partnership between the two companies. Pitman already represents EFIs VUTEk superwide printing systems as well as the ColorProof XF solution for digital color proofing, large-format production and photographic printing.
EFI president Fred Rosenzweig
This agreement will prove beneficial for Pitman, for EFI and for the label printing and packaging industry as a whole, said EFI president, Fred Rosenzweig. Now that the Jetrion 4000 is commercially available, Pitman provides the ideal channel to speed the rate at which our breakthrough technology can help label printers make the transition to digital printing to produce short run jobs economically.
Pitman President Peter Moore
We are happy to extend our partnership with EFI, and are very excited about distributing Jetrion into the market for digital labels, said Pitmans new president, Peter Moore. The Jetrion 4000 stands apart from other solutions, with lower running costs than toner alternatives, and a lower purchase price that delivers a compelling return on investment.
Jetrion 4000 and Monochrome Systems
The Jetrion 4000 UV Inkjet System offers label converters an affordable, full-color narrow web alternative to toner-based digital printers for label runs of up to 50,000 labels and beyond. With speeds of up to 30.5 meters/min at more than 1000 dpi with greyscale technology, the Jetrion 4000 delivers high-quality, full-colour label printing up to 13.9 cms (5.5 ins) wide. The system also features Jetrions advanced UV4000 ink set which provides exceptional durability and reduces the need for costly over-laminates. In combination with EFIs Fiery XF RIP and EFIs XFlow solution, the inks provide outstanding color reproduction across a wide range of substrates using an intuitive PDF-based digital workflow.
In addition to Jetrion 4000, the agreement also covers EFIs range of Jetrion monochrome systems which can be mounted on a flexo press or rewinder to bring instant variable data capabilities to any label converting business.
