Press release from the issuing company

Washington, D.C. – American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) President and CEO Donna Harman issued the following statement praising Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) for his leadership on U.S. Postal Service reform. On Thursday, March 22, Senator Carper introduced the Postal Service Reform Act of 2018 (S. 2629) – comprehensive legislation aimed at improving the financial viability of the U.S. Postal Service.

“The United States Postal Service is a vital American institution that deserves every opportunity to fulfill its mission to provide valuable postal services in rural and urban communities across the country. We applaud Senator Carper for providing a good step forward in establishing a roadmap for financial viability to the U.S. Postal Service - a long sought after goal needed to bring about rate stability and continued reliable customer service. This legislation will help ensure that the U.S. mail can effectively compete with the growing number of delivery options available to consumers.”
