Alcom Receives the 2017 KODAK SONORA PLATE GREEN LEAF AWARD representing North America

Press release from the issuing company

Alcom was recently recognized for outstanding achievement by Kodak, a global leader in fostering environmentally sustainable printing solutions. Alcom was among record 14 winners of Kodak’s 2017 SONORA Plate Green Leaf Award, nearly double the number of award recipients as last year. The program recognizes printers around the world whose products, services and operations set an example for sound operational initiatives that reduce their environmental impact.

“We are so proud of our team at Alcom for the global recognition from Kodak, “said Don Eichman, President & CEO. “Alcom team members are the best in the business. Without these outstanding passionate employees and their dedication to quality, this recognition would not have been possible. This achievement is an honor for everyone here.” Eichman also noted that “Kodak has been a strategic business partner of Alcom’s for more than 20 years and they have helped Alcom drive our business into the future.”

Alcom is located in the Greater Philadelphia area in Harleysville, PA. With over 70 years of service excellence in the industry, Alcom is a leading provider of integrated solutions for print, direct mail marketing and business development and offers solutions to fit their large sheetfed, cold-set web, large format and digital printing equipment.

Richard Rindo, General Manager of Worldwide Sales, Print Systems Division, and Vice President of Eastman Kodak Company, expressed pride in this latest group of award recipients.  “It’s clear that the printing industry’s adoption of sustainable business solutions is not only good environmental stewardship, it’s about sustaining and growing each printer’s business,” Rindo said.

“Alcom is focused on continuous improvement projects such as converting to controlled LED lighting throughout the facility, recycling of virtually all materials used in print production and overall operation, and installation of a complete energy efficient IT infrastructure says Doug Yeager, COO”. Alcom is a third party certified Sustainable Green Printer through the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGPP).
