Delphax and AHT Announce Partnership to Offer High Speed Printing Solution
Press release from the issuing company
MINNEAPOLIS, June 27 -- Delphax Technologies, a global provider of high-speed digital printing and publishing systems, and Advanced Hi-Tech Corporation (AHT), a world leader in providing digital front-end printing solutions, today announced an agreement to jointly develop new high performance print server software to complement Delphax high speed print systems.
The new Unify Delphax HV Print Server is designed as a dynamic front-end solution for the Delphax CR Series ultra high-speed continuous-feed printers and Imaggia Series cut-sheet printers. The solution is built upon AHT's Unify server capability to create a powerful, user-friendly solution for high-volume PostScript, PDF and PCL printing.
The new solution delivers RIP speeds two to four times faster than existing software and will open new market opportunities for Delphax printing systems in key target markets such as publishing and direct mail.
The Unify Delphax HV Print Server is built on AHT's innovative browser- based Unify server platform. It is the first print server specifically targeted for high volume (HV) production environments that require both high print speed and high print quality as delivered by the Delphax CR Series and Imaggia Series. The front-end server will also provide for networked clustering of multiple CR Series continuous-feed printers each operating at up to 2,400 (6" x 9") duplex pages per minute or multiple Imaggia cut-sheet printers each operating at up to 300 (8.5" x 11") pages per minute.
"The application solutions that will be created as a result of this partnership will bring significant value both to our existing customers and to the print-on-demand marketplace in general," said Jay Herman, Chairman and CEO of Delphax Technologies Inc. "In particular, the print speed, print quality and flexible paper handling capabilities of our printers, combined with the ability to easily process the page description languages most commonly used in the publishing and direct mail market segments will generate immediate productivity and throughput advances for our customers."
"We are looking forward to providing this very powerful and cost effective solution to the high-volume printing marketplace," said Leonard Stone, Director of OEM Sales for AHT. "AHT's ENTIRE division provided a server for Delphax 10 years ago, and we are pleased to be working with Delphax Technologies once again to provide an intelligent, integrated solution."
Unify Delphax HV is integrated with a document management suite that was specifically developed for the print-on-demand environment. The optional software add-ons include: DocComposer, a document manipulation tool that allows you to make changes to a document without changing the original file, especially beneficial for bookmaking; PageSetter, a full-featured imposition tool that provides users with pre-set and customizable templates that can transform a document into a booklet without altering the original files; and Vite technology, a variable data printing tool that enables users to incorporate variable text and images into any document for personalized output.
